Choosing the right pneumatic hose, tubing
and how to use it?

The fundamental function of pneumatic tubing and hose is to transport pressurized air to actuators, valves, tools, and extra devices. There are various types & sizes of hoses and tubing in the market, hence one should consider a number of important factors when selecting the right one.

Firstly, it’s construction.

Tubing for air applications may be squeezed out of a single material or reinforced internally, normally with textile fibers for greater strength. Pneumatic hose usually entails an inner tube, one or more layers of strengthening braided or spiral-wound fiber as well as an external protective cover. In general terms, a hose is rougher than tubing but it costs more.

Flow requirements help control hose or tubing size. Tubing is usually specified by OD and wall thickness, meanwhile, a hose is indicated by ID.
